CBI has gone through much in this past semester, and it’s time for a quick update:
Bi-Weekly Meetings. We’ve committed to hosting bi-weekly group meetings and at each meeting, our aim is to push past our natural boundaries. Pastor Seth and Moses Lee came in separately to lead discussions on “Commerce and the Church” and “God’s Economy”, both highlighting many issues relating to our faith and our professions and ways to effectively integrate the two. One other week, John Yang led a Bible Study on “Competition.” Through our discussion groups we were able to ask questions that provoked each other and forced one another to defend our points of view and redefine our preconceived notions.
Yost Arena Clean-Up. We had the amazing opportunity to clean Yost Arena to raise funds for club operations. Although we only had 13 people (many thanks to our non-CBI friends), we cleaned the entire arena in under 2 hours! And these two hours earned us $200 for the club.
BBA Workshop. We held part one of our 2nd annual BBA Application Workshop in February. We focused on dispelling much of the “myths” associated with being in the business school and also with getting a BBA degree. Also, a second focus was on asking each applicant to dig deep and reflect on why they want a BBA or want to do business in general. Our aim isn’t to just provide an editing service but to share the vision of building God’s kingdom together with our degrees and fields of interest.
Looking Ahead. In the coming weeks, CBI wants to participate in HMCC’s Transformation Vision and raise funds for the URC purchase. We expect great things from God in the coming semester and looking forward to the year ahead. Please continue to pray for us and for this generation to capture the vision of God’s movement in the different spheres.
In Christ,
CBI
