Living 2008 with Purpose and Passion

I wanted to give a warm “Happy New Year” greeting to all of you.

It is always exciting to start a new year. There is something special about starting a fresh or from the beginning. We will have 365 days this 2008 year to live everyday with purpose and passion.

As we move forward with the whole Transformasphere Movement, we have many exciting things to look forward to. In this past year, we have seen more people getting involved in the movement, as people have caught the vision for transforming societies through their professions. We have also heard of great testimonies of people engaging their spheres for Christ and bringing forth transformation as they live out the Kingdom vision.

With the 2008 already underway, we would love to see God fuel more hearts with the transformasphere vision. There are four specific initiatives that we want to greater growth in for this year.

First, we want to “strengthen the community.” Life is made up of various connections and networks. We want to encourage and challenge the people who are already in the movement to keep the Kingdom of God perspective as they engage the various spheres.

Secondly, we want to create more “shared experiences.” One of the greatest ways to experience life transformation is by having Kingdom moments together. As we participate together in building God’s Kingdom we will be able to solidify our convictions and even build new ones.

Thirdly, we are going to try to put out more materials so that we will be able to “shape the minds” of this new generation. The bible reminds us that we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Ro 12:2). As we seek to provide various materials and even conferences in the future, we will be able to impart a biblical perspective of God’s Kingdom and equip people to live out their destiny in their mission field.

Lastly, we want to see the “spreading of the movement” to more people and places. It has been exciting within the last 6 months to talk with and correspond with people from different parts of the world. As I have been talking about the Transformasphere Movement, they have shared with me how God has been working in their own lives and their churches with the same vision. Even though the transformation language is a bit different, the heart and the vision are the same. This is when you know that it is a God-thing. Who else can put the same vision in different people and churches who have never met before? We want to see every church and Christ-follower to be part of this greater movement.

With all these things, we are humbled because we know that we cannot achieve any of this without God. This is why we need to commit ourselves to prayer for this 2008 year. As God will sovereignly work, we need to do our part by praying and staying focused to our task.

In light of everything that is going on in the world, we are sensing a greater need for nations to be transformed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May we be the instruments in which God will use to bring forth the transformation. As Jesus reminded us to be “the salt and light of the world,” may our light shine in the darkness so that people will praise God (Mt 5:13-16).

We have to be the “visible display” and the “viable demonstration” of God’s love for the nations. It should not only be our purpose, but our privilege for this coming year. It is going to be an exciting year of transformation!
