Last week, many in the Focus Ministry –the single adults of HMCC –were able to reach out to those living in the Ann Arbor community through The Night Life and the Focus Spookfest!
The Night Life event was a great success, as many friends and co-workers came out to dialogue, listen to live music, and drink some great Sweetwaters coffee and tea.
The topic of conversation was “life balance.” Through a personal inventory exercise, we discussed how often our time, resources, and energy are channeled towards the things that matter very little to us.
“There’s something wrong when we spend only 25% of our day and our lowest energy on the things that matter to us the most,” commented one participant. Unfortunately, it often takes a crisis to make us reprioritize our lives. We ended the night with hope that many of us will not have to wait for a crisis to make necessary life changes.
As a follow-up to The Night Life, members of Focus hosted a Halloween Spookfest. Many friends came out and we had a blast hanging out, eating great food and cheering for the best costumes!
The next The Night Life event will be on Tuesday, November 13th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Sweetwaters Cafe in downtown Ann Arbor. Our topic of conversation will be "The Quarterlife Crisis." To learn more about The Night Life, please email Moses Lee (moses.lee@hmcc.net) or visit our website.
